Each registrar is different, the location of its control panel can vary and so can the method of changing DNS records.

Here are some examples of how to locate the control panel in registrars:

Once you finish creating your website, click PUBLISH > Choose a subscription (all include unlimited hosting) > Follow the steps to connect a domain or buy a new one. See our video tutorial here.

If you do not own a domain, you can purchase one through our website at $10 per year (only “global” domains are currently available – .com, .net. org etc.).

Once purchasing a domain from us, an email will be sent to you within 48 hours confirming the site and email are up.

If you wish to connect a local one – .co.uk, .fr etc., you can buy it from a local domains registrar and connect it as an existing domain. One place you can buy a domain is https://iwantmyname.com/services/website-builder/imcreator-custom-d… (IM is not affiliated with this service, this is one of number of sites you can buy a domain from).

If you wish to connect your own domain, follow our step-by-step wizard – imcreator.com/existing_domain.

Don’t worry, this only means that the DNS is configured correctly (the domain is pointing to our servers) and there’s only one more step needed to activate the site.

Log into your site’s editor and go to Settings> Domain> Existing Domain. Add your domain name and click connect. The site is immediately up under your domain name.

If you haven’t upgraded your site as needed to connect a domain, you will be asked to do so (see more http://support.imcreator.com/entries/24044760-Connecting-Your-Website-to-a-Domain)

If you see a message ‘this domain is already taken’ click on cancel and then on the blue PUBLISH button in the upper-right corner of the editor.
